Weekend Wrap Up : Sunday Drive

We had a weekend full of no plans and it was great, really great.

We had been trying to take a picnic for weeks since our anniversary and our plans kept getting delayed.
Well Friday afternoon we were determined.  And we did.
And we the best time.
We packed up a full picnic basket and Floyd and headed down to Devou Park in Kentucky.
The park had a beautiful view of the city and the Reds big screen was juuust big enough that Mister could watch the game highlights ;)
We filled up on snacks and wine and took in the beautiful view.
Floyd was really well behaved and even cooperated for a photo shoot.
More on that on Friday.

Saturday was a very chill day.
Mister played golf and I did some boot camping.
Floyd and I planted more veggies (eggplant, peppers and cucumbers!), ventured to Lowes and picked up this adorable mat from Target.
We rounded out the night with delicious burgers from a local butcher and Orphan Black.

Sunday.  Sunday was great.
We literally had 0 plans.
We had coffee, lounged and brunched at Cheapside Cafe.
We then took a beautiful drive along the river about an hour outside of town to visit a friend.  It was the epitome of just taking a Sunday drive and I loved it.

And that was our weekend full of nothing...and it was fabulous :)

  3. How fun and what a great view!! We totally got a picnic basket set for a wedding present and I think we need to start putting it to use...we've only had it for 3 1/2 years...haha

  4. Dang, I've heard Cheapside is so good, but I just don't have enough weekends left! So great that you got in your picnic, and even more fun that there was a Reds game happening right across the river at the same time. Isn't that view fabulous?

  6. That view is AMAZING! I'm going to add that park to my list of things to do when I'm home! Also, I saw that adorable mat at Target and was so tempted to buy it on Saturday! I'm probably being cynical, but I'm hesitant to buy a mat since I live in an apartment building. I would be crushed if that precious thing was stolen!
