Weekend Wrap Up : Celebrating 5

With our anniversary on Friday we knew we wanted an entire weekend of celebrating.
And celebrate we did!

Friday before dinner we exchanged our wood themed gifts.
Guys, Mister did so well.
Drumroll...
A picnic basket because it is made out of wood!
Genius!
I am already planning an assortment of snacks to fill this adorable basket with and enjoy some Spring weather at a local park!
I gave Mister a WeWood watch...which I totally failed to photograph but it is this one.
A watch, made of wood! And I thought I was the clever one.  He did better than me, once again!
My plan is to have a 'wood' gift guide up later this week for more ideas.
Ironically, Mister said he almost got me one of the watches as well.
They say you've been together too long when... ;)
For dinner we headed to Red Feather in Oakley.
Oh my lanta.
The wine was amazing, whipped ricotta on grilled bread, salmon with a crisp outer layer, melt in your mouth short ribs...it was all to do die for.
I am still dreaming about this meal.
I recently had my rehearsal dinner dress altered so I wore that to dinner along with my most favorite bright pink wedding shoes.  I am huge dork and love to try to wear my shoes every year with my dinner outfit.

And then, of course, it was wedding dress time.
Floyd was not really into our photo shoot.
I will, again, fully acknowledge my dorkiness BUT I LOVE my dress and I love this silly excuse to put it back on each year.

Other weekend highlights included enjoying a bottle of wine we had been saving, popping into Famous Footwear for some shoe shopping and the outlets for Spring clothes.
The man knows the way to my heart...wine and shoes and clothes.  And adorable picnic baskets.

Saturday night we headed over to Katie's for a chili cook off a round of the Newlywed game...only appropriate for our anniversary weekend, right?  I have to say Mister and I did pretty well!

Happy 5 Years! Those are some great gift ideas and I'm totally referring back to your blog each year for your gift guides. And the picnic basket is amazing. We have been talking about going on a picnic once it gets a little warmer, so I may need to get this. I also love that you get to wear your dress every year. Such a fun tradition!!

Oh my word!!! SO sweet! I love both of your gifts to each other, so creative. Caleb and I once scored a sweet picnic set similar to that at a yard sale (we have yet to use it!). Love that you try on your dress every year. :)

Love, BOTH the gifts you two came up with! It's so fun doing the traditional route and being creative with it. I went back and read your 4th anniversary ideas and I'm working on coming up with something for for ours in May now :)

Oh my goodness. The note and the picnic basket?! I melt! That is actually a PERFECT gift. Way to go, Mister! Also, I could use a new pair of Chucks myself...

Yay for 5 and for the thoughtful gifts! Love both of the gifts. So cute! Definitely putting the restaurant on our go-to list. Sounded/looked delicious.

So glad you guys could come! Loved seeing both of you. Let's get another on the books asap!
