Weekend Wrap Up: Friends in Town!

I'm so sorry I didn't get my weekend wrap up post up yesterday.
We still had friends in town Sunday night and playing Monopoly Deal was on the agenda!
(Lucky teacher friends who didn't have to work on Monday.)

Anyhooo, we had a fantastic weekend and I loved showing Sarah and Megan around Cincinnati.

Friday night started off with Mister bringing me home beautiful flowers :)
Then I cleaned up the house and watched gymnastics until the girls arrived!
We chit chatted and ate crack brownies until the wee hours
(well like 12:30 but hey, that's later than I normally stay up!)
Newest crack brownie experiment: Hershey's Cookies and Cream bars...
Verdict: DELICIOUS!

Friday night I put this breakfast casserole in the crock pot and it was smelling delicious and ready to go by the time we got up Saturday morning.  I added a little salsa per some of the recommendations online.

After breakfast we headed to IKEA.
It was a madhouse per usual but we made out with some goodies.

After shopping and lunch we came back to lounge at the house and then headed out to dinner at The Works.
The Works is housed in an old fire station...the food and decor are fantastic.
And no summer evening is complete without ice cream.
Whipty Do is dangerously (cheap) and close to our house!

Sunday we ventured down to Newport to check out the Aquarium.
Somehow I have never to been to our aquarium and this was the perfect time to go!
My favorite parts were definitely Mighty (not to be confused with Magic) Mike
who is a 14' gator and the sharks.
 Very, very cool!
We had lunch at Tom + Chee which I had been dying to try
and it did not disappoint!
They put chips on their sandwiches, what's not to love??

Later that evening we saw Magic Mike...
I know a lot of you ladies saw it this weekend.
What did you think?
We determined that we certainly didn't see it for the story line.
My thoughts are:
Channing is SO hot (duh), Matthew was weird in it and I felt that there were a lot of unresolved issues/story lines.
But most importantly, Channing is not ugly.

We rounded the night out with burgers, corn on the cob, games and more gymnastics.

Phew. Thank goodness this week is short one because I am pooped!
This week/end is sure to be a doozy too though!
More on that later!

How was your weekend?

Sounds like a funfilled weekend, whew! I got tired just reading all you were able to cram in ;) I can't believe you hadn't been to the aquarium before... I LOVE it! My husband and I were just saying last night we are due to visit again, it's been awhile and I want to see Mike that everyone's talkin about ;)

I tried Tom + Chee a couple of months ago for the first time - it was great! And I love their logo.
