Total Basset Case: Fridays with Floyd: Fetch

Fridays with Floyd: Fetch

Gretchen from Mean Girls has a better chance of getting fetch to happen than Floyd does.

As I said last week, Floyd isn't so great at 'dog' things.

Here are 2 examples of his non dog abilities.

1.  Catching a ball thrown to him
Can't do it. Won't do it.

2. Fetch
Floyd has never, ever, in his life, played fetch outside like a normal dog.
He sometimes, sometimes plays inside down our hallway.
But only on his terms and only when he wants to and only for about 30 seconds at a time.
And then sometimes, not at all.
(please, please refrain being jealous of my outfit and wet hair.)

Like, I've said, he's much better at sleeping and eating peanut butter.
We are just going to focus on developing those skills further.

One day I'll tell you the story of the time we entered him in a basset hound race.

Happy weekend, friends!
Make it a great one!

Haha...love this! Paisley doesnt do anything "dog" like either. If I throw a ball at her, she stares blankly at me and then lays down.

LOL- Floyd is so freaking lovable, that lazy little thing ;) Is it bad that I want to meet Floyd as much as I want to meet you?!

Floyd is too funny! Oh my. I have a feeling him and Rayne would not be friends haha! When Rayne sees a ball she will climb over anything/anyone to fetch it.
Have a great weekend Sarah!!

Floyd is awesome. These videos are so funny, especially the second one where he just stands there and looks at you! My shepherd mix doesn't fetch either. She'll run after the ball excited and then see something shiny and get distracted!

We have a bassett (Humphrey). Its amazing how similar these two act! Everything in on their own terms. Humphrey also will play, but only for a few seconds, and then he's over it. Hilarious.

is it too weird that, today, on my way to work, I saw a Basset and it made me think of Floyd? ;o)

Have a great weekend!

ahhaha. So funny! Oh Floyd, we love you just the way you are. :) Sherm doesn't play fetch like a normal dog either ... he'll get the ball, and then just wait for you to chase him. Chase is much more exciting than fetch (I "accidentally" taught him that ... oops).

Haha, so funny! My dog Jinx won't fetch or really do anything unless he wants to do it. My other dog Oliver will play fetch though which made me ridiculously happy to discover :)

HAHAHHAHAAHA love it! I especially loved the pic you posted on Instagram of y'all on a "walk" yet Floyd was sitting. Love his little long earred heart! ;)

Aww these are too cute!! I have to admit I think my cat is more of a dog than a cat. She plays fetch and begs for food. If I can figure it out I will post a video of her playing fetch.
