Total Basset Case: Floyd's Friends: Everyday Adventures

Floyd's Friends: Everyday Adventures

I have a very important and helpful tutorial for you guys today:
how to torture put a sweater on a basset hound.
 1. Gather said basset and make sure he's a little tired so he's less wiggly.
2. Prepare the neck hole of your sweater because all that extra neck skin takes up a LOT of room.
 3. Pick up the short, chunky basset paws and carefully slide them through the arm holes.
This must be done quickly because bassets generally have terrible balance and will fall over in a matter of .3 seconds.  Repeat with the other chunky paw.
4. Pull the sweater down as far it is will go on their long, long torso
(so long that a large hardly fits...)
and ta da! Fits like a (too short) glove.
I think he needs some corduroy pants to go with his reindeer sweater to keep his tush warm.

And now for Floyd's Friends!
Today we have Casey and Gus from Everyday Adventures joining us!
Casey and Gus are loyal TBC readers and we are so happy to have them in our neck of the woods today.
_______________________________________________________________________________
My name is Gus and I don't have any friends.
(Gus, Floyd says that's not true and he is definitely your friend!)
I am actually pretty okay with that. I like my human parents just fine. In fact I like any human that will pay attention to me. And I have these two cats that live in the house with me, but I usually just ignore them. Me and other dogs? We just don't get along. My human mom has all these crazy ideas that it's because I use to live on the streets. I mean, yes it was rough out there, but eventually I made my way to a shelter and then to my "forever home" as the shelters like to say. But the real reason I don't like dogs?
Butt sniffing. Seriously. I get that we need to say hi and all, but why do you have to come back for seconds? Didn't you get enough the first time around? I did. Anyway, my human mom met dad online, and she thought it would be a good idea for me to meet some other dog friends. So here I am.
(We are so glad you are here, Gus and will introduce you to so many new friends!)
First of all, if you are one of those pansy little lap dogs that get to sit on the couch and ride around in purses and go to the beauty parlor? I am totally jealous of you. Mom and Dad don't really let me sit on the couch and I LOVE it when I get brushed. Yes I'm a boy, but I like to feel pretty. I also love it when we go for walks, I just wish my humans would go faster. I am pulling as hard as I can to get them to move, but every time I get some momentum, they just make me sit and wait. Seriously, why don't they hurry up?
If you want to be my friend, you must love playing fetch. But, if you are one of those dogs that takes the ball and runs away with it, stay far away from me and my tennis ball. I mean, seriously, if you can't follow the most important rule to this game (give the ball back to the human), I don't want you near me. Fetch is like the best thing ever. For fetch, I do prefer tennis balls, but if one isn't around I will take a stick, or a Frisbee or pretty much anything a human will throw.
My favorite place (besides for the couch I am not supposed to get on) is the water. Nothing is better than when mom puts me in the car and drives me down to the river to play fetch. Seriously, that is the life. The only thing is that the river is right next to the vet. There have been times when I am in the car all excited about swimming in the river, and all the sudden I'm at the vet. Let me tell you, what goes down in that office is not what goes down at the river.
I wish the ocean was closer. I love the beach and the ocean, but an hour and a half in the car isn't fun. Do you know what else isn't fun? Fireworks. And storms. And night time. Camping isn't so great either. I mean, why are we outside when it is dark? That is stupid. My dumb humans like that sort of thing though. My dumb humans also like putting clothes and accessories on me.
But seriously, my mom is pretty cool. You can check out her blog here. That's probably the best way to get a hold of me too, if you want to be my friend. Since I don't have any friends.

Gus, we love to meet new friends as well and know that there are plenty in the blog world that would love to be friends with you!
But you are right, Gus, everyone should go check out your mom's blog!
Now get over there and say hi to Casey and Gus and become friends!

Have a fabulous weekend, friends!

Floyd in a sweater! I wish that we could get Baxter and Floyd together for a Christmas sweater photo shoot. I hear you on the short legs--Baxter had a hard time with that too. Floyd is so svelte in his--Baxter had rolls coming out the top and bottom of his sweater. He has an eating problem, I am afraid. ;)

Gus is a hoot! I like the picture where he is all, PET ME!

That tutorial is so funny! We tried to put a sweater on Wrigley and he froze...he would. not. move. So we laughed at it for about a minute and then took it off. Is that animal torture?? ;) Hahah!

Have a great weekend!
