Blogtember : The End

Day 20: Something old or passed down

And just like that we've reached the end of Blog and September! I'm not sure how it went by so quickly but it did.  (Ps I'll be wrapping up September tomorrow and joining Allison for her Hello Goodbye link up and you should too!)

I am excited about today's to share something old or inherited and why it's special.
We are lucky enough to have a few very special items around our house and although, I haven't photographed all of them here are a few that I received after my grandparents passed away.
They are mainly a collection of kitchen items and I love that. My mamaw was a fantastic cook and taught me many recipes and a love for cooking.
Just the other night I (splurged) and made cornbread for company we had over in her iron skillet and not only was it delicious, I loved knowing she had made many batches of cornbread for her family in that skillet as well.  Plus cornbread in from an iron skillet is the best way to make cornbread.
That red pyrex bowl is a staple of my childhood. Every time I would go visit my grandparents something (usually my mamaws famous macaroni and cheese!!) would be served in that bowl.
The vase and bowl are also very special, the story goes that my papaw brought those to my mamaw after her came back from war overseas. I think they are beautiful and I've actually moved the little bowl to my room to hold my everyday jewelry.

We also have a great coat rack from Mister's family and plethora of Mason jars that I can't quite decide what to do with yet.  I did use one of them here for my sand memory jar project.

So long, Blogtember.
It's been real and it's been fun.

I love that type of Pyrex bowl! Red especially. It's my favorite color :) P.S. You should join me for a one-day linkup I'm hosting on October 10 called "Never Have I Ever." :)

My mom has teal and yellow bowls from her mother. She has the same sentimental attachment to them. There something about dem old pyrex bowls!
