Very good friends of our moved to Boston a little over a year ago and we have been dying to get up there to see them. We hear nonstop how amazing Boston and the surrounding areas are and how quickly they can be reached.
Our friends both celebrated birthdays over Labor Day weekend so we thought it was a great time to head north!
We packed a lot into the 5 days we were there so for some sanity, I will break these recaps into a couple of posts. I love looking back at our old trip posts and remembering our vacations, such a great journal!
But first, we (by we I mean I) had a small hiccup before we left town.
By hiccup I mean I feel down our stairs, twisted my ankle and smacked it good and hard on our tile floor. SO walking all over Boston was interesting but by golly I did it!
The real kicker is that I wanted to run in as many states as I could while there. This did not happen but I don't think it's broken so I am calling it a win.
Thursday when we arrived we headed straight to Wahlburgers...sweet potato tater tots and the possibility of seeing ce, yes please!
We took it easy that night and hung out, had wine and loved on the doggies.
Friday we took the train into the city and our first stop was Fenway.
Fenway was number one on Mister's list to see and it was pretty high up on mine as well.
It lived up the hype!
We had an awesome opportunity to go up in the press box

and on the field!!
They said they don't always let tours on the field so we were very excited!!
To say Mister was losing his mind would be an understatement.
After Fenway we walked around the city some more, headed over the Commons and on to the number one item on my list...the Swan Boats. The moment I found out about these, I knew we had to do them.
$3.50 a ride, I am easily amused.
Next up, we hit up Cheers, the North End, Boston Public Market, Qunicy Market and more!
We rounded out the afternoon with a tour around Harvard and delicious burritos from Felipes.
Bethany's FitBit told us we walked 18,000 steps and almost 8 miles.
I spent a good majority of those miles (hobbling) and staring at all of the architecture. Mister spent them pointing out places from Good Will Hunting.
I will be back tomorrow with the rest of our trip! Get ready for one million beach, boat and sunset pictures. You've been warned ;)

Ah, Boston is the BEST! I grew up about 40 minutes away and went there all the time! Totally jealous of the Fenway pics;)
Boston is so fun and one of the things I miss most about living in New England! Out of all the times I've been, I can't believe I never did the swan boats. You really can't beat that price for a ride!
So awesome!! Boston is definitely on our list of places we want to travel! And that's the best $3.50 ever spent if you ask me ;)

I can't believe I've never been to Boston! It's at the very top of my list (along with San Francisco) and these pictures have solidified it for me. Wahlburgers is a must and I would love to watch a game at Fenway. Such a cool experience!
So fun! I just had friends get back from there, too! I've been dying over all their awesome pictures- definitely a city on our to-visit list :)
Last time Chris and I went to Boston was during the winter (not one of our best choices), so I can't wait to make it back one day during a different season :)
