Meal Plan: Week of April 16th + Weekend Wrap Up

I apologize for the lack of meal planning yesterday.
I have a really good excuse...
I couldn't stop reading '50 Shades of Grey'.
It is SO good.
I ordered the next 2 books last night and can NOT wait for them to get here!

Anyway, excuses aside, here is our meal plan
Monday: Leftover Dr. Pepper Pork
 Thursday: Leftovers
Weekend: Plans are in the works :)

I am also planning on whipping up these creamsicle cookies

And now for the weekend wrap up!

Despite a bit of rain early, we had a great day at Keeneland!
I wore the dress and loved it (can't wait to wear it again),
we made some new friends,
ate yummy food
and
I won $6.60 on a race

I Found the Dress!

....for Keeneland that is!
If you follow me on Twitter (@totalbassetcase), you have probably gathered that I'm going to Keeneland this weekend.
I am beyond excited!!

You may recall here when I gushed my love for A Cut Above.
Well I FINALLY made a decision on a dress
(I literally could not decide)
Cute, right?
I know, I know it was not included in my previous options but I LOVE it!
I also got a cute, skinny orange belt to go with it.

My experience with A Cut Above was top notch!
I ordered the dress on Thursday and it was here Monday.
Brittany even included an adorable A Cut Above koozie!
Now I'm really Keeneland ready!
I got my nailsss did
I have also recently rediscovered my velcro rollers
Why did I ever stop using them??
They will be busted out to create the perfect Southern hair.

And I will be packing my teasing brush in case this happens again...

Happy FRIDAY!!

Weekend Wrap Up: Relaxation

This was the first weekend I have been home in about a million weekends.
Million = since Labor Day.
Granted we have had some really great weekends away but it was SO nice to be home.
This weekend included:
  • Having new friends over for dinner
  • Becoming Costco members (!!)
  • Floyd's sleepover with Sidney (photos to come)
  • Visiting a new Target
  • Sunday night date with the Mister to Firehouse Subs
  • LOTS of Pinning
  • Celebrating my sweet friend Elisa who is about to have her first baby
  • Renting Bridesmaids and dying over it again
  • Dying over THIS and THIS cuteness.  If these 2 girls weren't adorable enough already, come to find out, they're British.

And I forgot to share this last week...here is the photo evidence that I did meet up with Pink Lou Lou.  Here is her write up of the weekend.

Weekend Wrap Up: Keeneland

We had the most gorgeous weekend for Keeneland.
Lexington in the fall is one of the best places in the world to be.
The weather, the company and the food were all just perfect.
It was so nice to be with old friends and we even made some new ones!

My tailgate food was quite the hit.
The cake batter cookie bars turned out deliciously and I can't wait to make more.
The Mister has requested them no less than 5 times since we have been home.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see many of the blogger ladies :(
Tess and I kept missing one another (stupid cell service inside the track).
But I did happen to run into Miss Pink LouLou.
And to be honest, my day was kinda made.
Let me tell you, she is as beautiful and sweet in person as she is on her blog.
And the best part...
Miss PLL poufed my hair!!!
We all know she loves the pouf and I was more than happy to have her work her magic on my head.
I may or may not have had my teasing brush in my purse...
There are some items you just never know when you may need them.
For instance in the walkway at the grand stand at Keeneland.
I don't have any photo evidence of this event but Miss LouLou does...hopefully I can share those with you soon!
Here are some other pictures from the day...enjoy!
P.S. I almost went with the black dress option and at the last minute ran to Forever 21 and found this coral dress that I ended up wearing.

The betting room...where I lost a whole $8.
New friends Rush and Christy.  Thanks for a fun day, ladies!

Tailgate Goodies

For some reason it is embedded in me that when I show up somewhere I need to bring food.
Keeneland is no different.
And what is more fun than tailgate food??

I jumped to Pinterest to gather some inspiration.
I was having a bit of a hard time choosing items that didn't need to be right out of the oven hot or refrigerated.
I think I've narrowed it down though to a few good ones.

Local fare:
Servatis Pretzels and Beer Cheese

Chips and Salsa

Tess just made these and they look divine!
(P.S. I may get to meet Tess this weekend!)

What are you favorite tailgate staples?
