Fridays with Floyd: Bark in the Park

Sep 14, 2012

We have been trying to go to Bark in the Park for 3 years now.
It sells out so quickly and we always miss our chance.
Not this year!
I bought our tickets way back in May and have been counting down the days ever since.

The Reds really put on a really nice production.
A lot of pet booths were set up, treats and swag galore and even contests to win prizes.
One of the best parts of the evening was being able to walk on the field.
We (and about 500 other dogs/families) were able to take a lap around the warning track
and we snuck in a few photo opps too.
When it was time for the game to start we all sat in the stands.
Floyd even had his own seat.
Not that he sat in it, but it was there.
He didn't mind sitting on the ground and sniffing out the peanut shells.
What he really preferred was to sit on our laps.
 At a ballgame.
In not a very big chair.
At one point he was laying across both of our laps.
Ridiculous.
We were pretty tuckered out and left during the 7th inning stretch.
But not before 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame'
at which time Floyd started howling/singing along to the song.
It was priceless.
(Rhat was clearly a strike)

We had such a fun time (and so many treats for Floyd) and can not wait to go back next year!

*I am out of town all next week for work (learning cabinetry!) but have no fear,
I have some really great guest posters lined up.
Be sure to come back on Monday to see who I have lined up!

This is so awesome! Ive always wanted to take my dog to the Texas Rangers Bark in the Park but its in the middle of the summer and I know he would be such a drama{king} and be so hot!!

That is awesome! I wish a team in Texas did that, or maybe they do? I am going to look right now!!! We have a Bassett...looks a lot like Floyd but about 65lbs. he is hilarious and howls when people sing as well! We took him to an outdoor concert and he howled when the guy sang. A Pic of him is on my blog, you will need to check him out! I am sure him and Floyd would be best buds! Slobber and all!

This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. My heart is so happy that events like these occur. He is SUCH a human it's beyond me.

So cute! I took Paisley to Bark in the Park twice and she was absolutely is terrified of it. Too many people. Too many dogs. Too many noises. The best part of her day was the car ride there...and the car ride home! :)

I LOVE THIS!!!

I want Floyd to meet Belle pronto.

She may only be 4 lbs, but she's 4 lbs of love that I think Floyd would enjoy.

;)

LOVE this! The Rangers used to have bark in the park (they still might, I just haven't heard about it). Too bad we don't have a pup!

So fun! Sounds like Mr. Floyd was spoiled!

I love the pic of floyd in the cut out! I'm just thinking about how hard it was to achieve that shot with norrie (getting her to look through the hole). I can't imagine trying to hold a dog up there and getting him to look through!! Hahaha

Jen September 15, 2012 at 9:05 AM

Oh my that is too funny! I can only imagine his basset howl singing along with everyone. I wish we had something like that here, although my pups would probably cause too much trouble...ha!

That is adorable! I'm sure Floyd had a blast. I love that he was lying across both of you! Oh floyd.

Okay, dogs are my weakness. And all of these pictures are making me really happy! How cute are all of they in their uniforms. Perfect! ;)

LOVE those pics! My dogs hate other dogs, ugh, so I can never take them cool places. The Nats do something similar though, and I think its such a great idea!
