Total Basset Case: Fall Bucket List

Fall Bucket List

So I know last week I said I wasn't quite ready for fall.
Well, I am still not ready for the cold but I am getting more in the fall spirit.
I figured a bucket list of things to accomplish would get me even more in the mood.

1. Visit the pumpkin patch as a family.  We try to do this every year and really love taking Floyd and picking out pumpkins.  I also try to accomplish our Christmas card picture at the patch...this doesn't always quite happen though.  Floyd tends to get a lit-tul distracted with all of those people around.
2. Bake fall treats.  I swear there are so many delicious looking (and tasting) fall/pumpkin recipes out there that is hard to narrow down which ones to tackle first.  I want to make them all but to begin with these ones are the on the top of my list:
and I heard these were pretty good as well :)
3. Decorate the house for fall. This better happen asap so we can enjoy it!
4. Decide on and make Floyd's Halloween costume.  I have a few ideas for him and will probably let you guys vote on them soon!  I'm doing my best to incorporate his ears into the outfit.
(last year he was a personal trainer)

5. Carve/decorate pumpkins.  I love to carve pumpkins and would love to try the glitter pumpkins or the chevron...however...I am a little cautious to do anything considering some PUNKS smashed ours all the way down the street last year.
6. Buy a few mums for the front porch. I've never purchased mums but would love to pick some up this year!
Elisa wrote a great post on mums and other fall decorations for your porch!
 7. Accomplish a few crafts/start holiday prep and DIY.  I tend to get my best crafting done in the fall and by that I mean while football is on.
Ideas include: adding a monogram letter to our fall wreath, starting holiday DIY gifts (can't tell you which ones yet!), making a list of holiday treats to make for others and mkaing a fall/Halloween garland.
8. Have a fall date with the Mister. I am not sure what this will be yet but it'll be fallish and it'll be fun!!

I think that wraps up my fall bucket list for now!
What is on your fall to do list?
Anything else I should add?

And I want to say a very special Happy Birthday to my bestie Sarah!!
Hope you have a great day, pretty and enjoy time with your new little man!

What a fun list! I like how you talked about each one as opposed to just listing them..that gets boring and everyone says the same thing. I think mostly I just liked all the pictures of Floyd. He's such a cutie! And he was a personal trainer! SO. ADORABLE. I absolutely LOVE that idea so do not be surprised if that's what Maddie decides to be this year.

Also, those mums in pumpkins--so easy! I did it for my mom for her birthday one year :)

I love all your goals. I'm all about that two ingredients pumpkin Brownies. Get to the pumpkin patch! My family and I went two weekends ago and had so much fun! Can't wait to see what Floyd's costume ends up being.

What a great idea! I might do this myself. Love that picture of your sweet little family, it's a framer!

I love Floyd's personal trainer costume! That's great! I don't know what my dogs are going to be yet either. Last year the pit bull was a flower and the GSD was a bee (even though the pittie is a boy and the GSD's a girl) :) Maybe superheros!

This got me excited for some fall baking!

Also, love the first picture. You guys look like a J.Crew ad, IF J.Crew kept bassets around. Which they probably don't, since drool + cordoroys = disaster.

I always love to do wine tasting in the fall! Floyd's costume is so cute - the tail hole, I die! Chloe has been a chicken and a rabbit. Last year I wore a basset mask and went as her. Ridiculous!

This gets me all excited inside! Can I come along and do all of these fun things? No one would even question why I was in your family Christmas card I promise

I love your bucket list! I never even thought of bringing my dog to the pumpkin patch, what a good idea.

We are going to a pumpkin patch/hayride/cornmaze over the weekend! I'm hoping we can manage a Christmas card pic too- but we'll see ;)

I love your picture from last year, along with Floyd's costume--that is hilarious! My dogs hate anything on their head so I need to figure something out like that. Your fall picture is great, too! I want to get fall pics for our Christmas cards but I'm not quite sure how to convince my hubby to do it. He hates pictures, haha

Seriously not ready for cold weather... fall's been coming on a little strong a few times around here for me - BUT all these fall things sound so fun so I guess it isn't all bad. I've got my mums on the front porch - so easy and cheap for fall decorating! And some cool pumpkins are definitely in order.

(Also that picture of Floyd seriously made me giggle.)

I always have mums for our front porch. If you saw my weekend in an instagram... I got to massive, beautiful maroon mums at Sams Club on Saturday. They are gorg!!

And sweet Floyd... Mar Belle has been a hot dog, a "witchy poo" and a "bad to the bone" girl before. Not sure what she will be this year. Guess it depends if she is with us this year or not. Mom usually dresses her up, too... but only for a minute to take a pic! =)

Love the list! I need to be making one for for our little home!
