I've told you guys before about how Floyd doesn't do too many 'dog' things.
He can't (and won't) fetch, he won't chase a ball, he runs like a dork and a multitude of other things.
Now human things, those he can do.
He is super helping loading the dishwasher, going through and folding the laundry, dumping out trash cans and emptying grocery bags.
We have been trying to teach Floyd shake for going on almost 4 years now.
I am constantly shaking that chunky paw all around in hopes that he will get it.
So far, nothing.
Kait was determined to make him shake when she came and I laughed and told her 'good luck'.
That did not deter her though and every time I turned around she was, also, shaking that chunky paw all around.
Well low and behold the day AFTER she leaves Mister is trying (once again) to get Floyd and shake and HE PICKED UP THAT CHUNKY PAW AND SHOOK!!
We screamed and carried on like he had just saved the world.
This has been an incredibly momentous occasion in our house this week.
And to prove it wasn't just a fluke I took a video AND he has done it since.
Turns out you can teach an old dog new tricks.
We are beyond proud of him and have to get a majority of the credit to Kait.
Another reason I think he may be over me and moving on to his new mama.
And while I am tooting Floyd's own horn for him...he has become a chickies saving master lately.
The chickies are now getting saved on an almost daily basis.
I can not help but think that the chickies game has made him smarter and helped him learn how to finally shake.
Hey, t's just a theory...but it does seem a little coincidental...
'I got the chickies, Mama.'
