Total Basset Case: The new 30

The new 30

We've reached the point in our lives and in our friend group that we've started turning 30.
And if I do say so myself, we are doing it gracefully and full of awesomeness.
This past weekend we celebrated, in full college style, our friend Margaret's 30th and had the best time.
We were back on our college stomping grounds, stayed up far too late laughing, hit up Qdoba at 3am and partied our faces off.  It was glorious.
My level of tiredness can not be measured but it was 100% worth it.
These girls make my heart whole and I am so, so thankful for them.

So as scary as 30 is hyped up to be...so far it is looking mighty fine on my friends.
I think I am just about ready to embrace it.
I may be singing a different tune next month when it's my turn, but right now, bring it on 30!
Well, as long as I can find a birthday dress, bring it on.  (Why is it so hard to find the perfect dress?)

I was the last of my friends to turn 30 and for 11 months I snickered at them as they completely freaked out. I thought that it was no big deal until a month before my birthday when I officially lost my mind. I was pregnant with Alexa and felt old, matronly and boring. So I bought a bass guitar and taught myself how to play -- until my belly got too big to hold it.

The moral of the story, seven years later: 30 is not that bad once you adjust to it. And to be honest, I am the same person now that I was then, but the added years and experience has made me a smarter version of myself. :)

It really is so weird when your group of friends start turning 30. It's like...you don't *feel* old, but 30 SOUNDS so old!! (I'm up in January...eeeek!!!)

You look beautiful!!

It is always so hard to find a cute dress when you need to buy one, but when you aren't really looking and DONT have to buy one, they are all at your fingertips. Girl, you're gonna rock 30! Woohoo!

I think 30 is going to look radiant on you! And in whatever dress you find ;) My husband turns 32 next month and he is less than thrilled, but I think he looks even better than the day I met him.

The closer I get to 30 the more I'm okay with it. At 25 I was totally freaked out by the thought, but as Jared and I both get closer to it, it seems pretty awesome :) I feel you on the dress thing too.. I've been looking for one for the upcoming holiday parties and not in love with anything yet! At least not in my price range! hehe

Sounds like fun! And I didn't know it was your turn next month... I really liked turning 30 actually because it sounds pretty mature (in a good way) to me. And it's an excellent excuse to celebrate - definitely need a dress. (Although if you don't have one yet, you better put a foam roller on your wishlist... apparently things fall apart slightly after 30. I'm back to not running. BOO.)

The video I woke up to after this night was my favorite part about the whole night. Oh, and the hashtag!
