Total Basset Case: My 2015 Resolution

Jan 7, 2015

My 2015 Resolution

is to...
and rest more.
Relax and rest.
(like how I am working on relaxing that the 'a' above is not perfect...)

Every day in our life and our house is a busy one.
I always have a million things written on my to do list; not to mention the ones in my head that have not made it to paper yet.
Some days I work late and do not get home until late and that messes with the evening to do list.
And it gets me in a tizzy.  And then I get grouchy.  And no one likes that.
So this year I am going to try my very, very best to put down the list and the 'to dos' and rest and relax.
And read. And watch shows with Mister and Floyd.  And just be.
I will not lie, to me, it is daunting and gives me anxiety.  BUT here we are on day 7 and I am working through it.  Some days will be harder than others but I think come December I will be very happy with this goal.

Come back later this week to see how I am incorporating this overall goal in our 2015 resolution list.

If anyone has any pointers for me, I am all ears!

I think I'm the opposite! I come home from work and all we want to do is hang on the couch and watch TV. Which is great, but my house is a mess! So hard to get to it all when it's pitch black outside. I'll give you some of my relaxation and take some of your motivation! :)

I love this post! I feel you exactly on all of this, and relaxing definitely needs to be part of my "live in the present" resolution. Here's to just BEING in 2015 - and keeping each other on track with it :)

I am totally with you! I have a hard time just sitting still and relaxing. I need to work on this as well as just enjoying lifes little moments and not just working torwards the weekend. There should be a support group or something for us :)

This post is very much like me too! I have a hard time sitting around. I live with to do lists on paper and also in my head. This is something I've been working so hard towards too, except of course the fact that my wedding is coming up... in 7 weeks... eek!!

I'm actually working on that, too! I want to read more, hang out with my kids more, and focus less on the crazier side of blogging and life that bogs me down.

Amen sista! Relaxing is something that is so hard! Even when I have time to just lay around, I always find something to do!

I think that is an amazing resolution to work towards! It is just too easy to look at the days ahead and all that needs to happen to make it there or prepare for it. I need to try this too. I am an obsessive list maker mostly for the fact that I like to cross things off my list.

Yessss. I need to learn to relax more as well. Sometimes we just HAVE too, though. It's good for the soul :)

Lady you were singing my tune. I spend more time than I care to admit worrying about my never ending to do list and if I will remember to write things down on said to do list. It leaves me a little grouchy around the edges. I've been trying, not always succeeding, to live in the moment. Embrace the mess and chaos. At the end of the day I ask myself, "Do the people I love know that I love and care about them because I've showed them." Everything else is second to that.

I love this. I'm kinda the same way (although I can always sit down and enjoy a good TV show). If the kitchen is messy, I must clean it ASAP. But, I think taking little steps toward relaxing more is something I should incorporate into my year, too!

I am always so busy as well, but one thing that helps me - and it's been tough - is saying no more. Saying no to nights out when I really just want to go home. Saying no to things I normally would have said yes to just because I didn't want to miss out. I am a yes person and a people pleaser, but I'm working on it because you have to have balance, and time for yourself and your husband and fur babies. Maybe it's giving yourself a definitive end time to your work day (if possible), so that you're not just working and working and working your nights away. Good luck!
