Total Basset Case: 5 Things

5 Things

The adorable Holly tagged me in 5 things and I am so excited to play along.
I love reading these types of posts because if blog stalking wasn't being nosy enough, these are full of even more juicy info.

1.  I am obsessed with recycling. I started the recycling program in our high school and at the past two jobs I've had.  I just really love saving the Earth.  It's so easy and takes just as much time to throw things as away as it does recycle them.  Why not?!  We often have way more trash than we do recycling.  My next venture is to get Mister on board with composting...

2. I refuse to look at the time if I wake up in the middle of the night.  Inevitably if I do it ends up being 45 minutes before I have to get up and then I'm pressuring my body to fall back asleep before my alarm goes off. I really LOVE sleeping and do not like for it to be messed with.
Floyd woke us up at 5:11 a few mornings ago HOWLING at the top of his lungs at something in the yard out our bedroom window.  We both SHOT out of bed and Floyd just about got to sleep outside the rest of the morning.  Don't wake the mama up.

3. I hate scary movies.  I've seen maybe 2 in my life and they haunted me for a long while.  But on the flip side I'll watch episodes of Dexter until I'm blue in the face.
Riddle me that one.

4. I can't function if my closet isn't organized my color.  It's been like this for years and I can't imagine it any other way.  It honestly helps me get dressed in the morning.  Feel like wearing pink? Just go write to the pink section!  My real dream in life would be to have Cher's closet from Clueless.

5.  It is my dream for Floyd to be a dog brand spokespersondog. Purina, PetSmart, a clothing/collar line, any of the above.  I think he would be excellent at it and who can deny his sweet face?!  Anybody have any connections with doggie modeling agencies?

That's just a face made for tv.

I think that you should submit Fred to be the new Hushpuppy dog! He would be perfect!

oh, his feet! i love it. i would buy anything floyd was promoting! i keep saying the same about henry, but mostly bc there are about 5 commercials (petsmart, travelers insurance, truck commercials, etc) with bloodhounds in them right now!

I finally got my husband on board to recycling when we first bought our house! We literally have more for recycling than we do for regular trash.
I can watch CERTAIN scary movies as long as I have someone to dig my nails into when I get scared but I cannot watch Dexter, it scares the crap out of me.

I really liked recycling until one night I was walking my bin out to the curb and my ankle gave out on me causing me to face plant into the driveway and a million bottles (mostly wine) made loud crashes all around me. This incident also made the bursa sac in my knee burst. Talk about bad luck.

Also, sorry I just wrote a short story on your blog.

I think Floyd would make an excellent spokesdog! Does he need a sidekick? I know a precious little yorkie who'd be perfect! Speaking of - Floyd's 'Currently' post inspired my Knox to write on as well this past Saturday. Those dogs...

I can't look at the clock in the middle of the night either. So annoying when I have to, and there is ten minutes left...ugh! And I am with you on the scary movie thing. No thanks :)

Heck yes for an extra Kohl's discount!! Thanks :)

I cannot watch scary movies. Jared loves them and has forced me to watch a few with him and I alwayssss have nightmares for days. Hate hate hate 'em!

I'm right there with ya. Dexter, YES. Anything scarier than Scooby Doo?? Absolutely not.

Eeeeee! I'm so excited :) I make a gigantic mess washing my face, and my hairline is almost never makeup free because I hate going to bed with wet hair. But yes, an alternative use would be to keep drool out of basset ears. I wonder if the owner would be interested in letting Floyd be a spokesperson for that?!

I'm totally with ya on the whole "don't look at the time if you wake up in the middle of the night"! And I am beyond against scary movies too. But I could totally see Floyd as a spokesdog! Just look at that face. ;)

My closet is SO organized by color & I'd totally quit my job if Belle became famous.

Tag...I'm it. I'll get one up this week!

I organize my closet by color too!! And I hate when I wake up in the middle of the night - i.e. 30 minutes before I'm supposed to wake up. What gives?! I too hate scary movies, but I watch a lot of crime shows. We're strange ;)

Glad you played along!!!

It is hard to say no to that sweet face!

I am the same way with scary movies...can't stand em. But you're braver than me with Dexter...I can't watch that one alone. Or in the dark. ;)

My closet is the same!! and when you figure out how to replicate Cher's closet send one my way!! I say send that exact pic of Floyd to the dog/pet brands and let the magic happen. he's too cute to not be considered to be spokesdog :)

Love this 5 Things tagging business!! And girl, I will take you shopping at Forever 21 if you come organize my closet. You would DIE if you saw how I organize my stuff. Shameful!

I can't even watch previews for scary movies without having nightmares for a week. Pathetic but true. Also, I organize my closet by color too. It's nice to know I'm not the only one. ...love your blog, just found it and am a new follower.

Love Floyd's fancy foot work! Do tell if you figure out the whole stagemom thing. I always tell my little Ellie Mae (beagle/dachshund) she needs to start earning her keep. I think she'd make a great greeting card dog.

Floyd's face is just too cute!! I HATE scary movies!! Loathe them! Even the previews when I'm watching another movie get me. :-) And Mendi's closet is organized by color. Mine on the other hand needs to be! Happy Humpday!

Just wanted to stop in say hi!
Love your blog, mainly because Floyd looks so much like my Dolly. They even have the same crooked paw (I call it 3rd position too) Plus you're from Ohio, so basically you rock.
Hope you have a great day!
