Where to buy preemie clothes

Anyone that knows me would know that before Little Mister was here he was pretty well stocked with cute newborn and 0-3 months clothes.  Boy clothes turned out to be WAY cuter than I expected and so we picked up pieces we loved/necessities and were gifted with some adorable clothing.
What we didn't have were preemie clothes.  Because, well, you know, someone tossed us a curve ball.

For the first few days to week of Grant being in the NICU he was in his (temperature controlled, very warm) incubator and I didn't think much about clothes.  Also I was in a complete daze 99% of the time.
However I vividly remember showing up at the NICU and his nurse for the day said 'if you have some clothes you want to bring him we can put him in clothes.'  I just about cried on the spot.
Clothes seemed like such a normalcy in the chaos that we were living in with tubes and wires and incubators.
It is no surprise that I drove immediately to Target after I left that day and picked up an outfit and Mister ran by Buy Buy Baby and found some teeny tiny onesies for him.

Then the search was on.  At first glance the Internet didn't have a ton to offer and I began to get really frustrated.  I even tried looking while we were still in the hospital and couldn't find much online.

Carters has a few things but they are fairly limited compared to their other offerings (especially in the store) and Target has literally 2 items.
Buy Buy Baby has a small selection, Wal Mart carries a secondary line from Carters called Child of Mine that has been really great and Nordstrom and a few other retailers also carry a precious line called Little Me and BabyGap has collection that is 'up to 7lbs'.
Now socks and hats that fit are a whole different story...thank goodness for swaddling blankets to cover those tootsies up.

Between friends, family, some careful searching and borrowing from friends (a work friend of mine had preemie twin boys so she loaned us a few items which has been a lifesaver), Little Mister soon had quite the collection.
As quickly as we could find and wash things I would take them into the NICU.

I vividly remember the day I walked in and he had a onesie on for the first time.  I definitely cried that day.  It was so reassuring to finally see something very, very normal on my baby rather than just wires and leads.  I'm not sure I will ever forget that.  They also put a sign on his bed that said 'I have my own clothes' which tickled me as well for some reason.

A few of my favorites are:
Bulldog on the butt, there is nothing cuter
Sleep gowns, so easy
Side snap tshirts, these were great for working around his leads/taking vitals
 This one just slays me
 All the puppy dogs

So while preemie clothes are not as readily available to find, it can be done.  The irony is that generally if you need preemie clothes you need them quickly because you were not expecting to need them.  I understand from a retailers standpoint they do not sell the same quantities as other sizes but I do think they should be easier to find.
We did find that the sizing with preemie items varies greatly...some stuff is still too big on him while some stuff he has already outgrown, both of which boggle my mind. We do a lot of sleeve rolling so he doesn't get swallowed by sleeves.

5 tips for shopping at Aldis

My mom has always been a fan of Aldis and I usually listen to everything she says.  However, I was not as quick to jump on the Aldis train with her.  Well that has all changed recently (see Moms really are always right) and I have been loving Aldis.
In the past month or so I have incorporated a stop at Aldis in my Sunday errands routine.
I have been so happy with the products we've gotten, the money we've saved and the overall experience, I thought I would share with you guys!
(Ps Aldis has NO idea who I am, this is just a friendly blog PSA.  But if Aldis wants to send me gift cards I wouldn't hate it.)

Aldis takes a simple, straight forward approach to grocery shopping.  No frills and no bells and whistles.  It is a bit of a different shopping experience but with these few tips I am pretty sure you will come to love it as much as I do.
1.  Bring a quarter - In order to get a buggy (cart) at Aldis you need $.25.  Don't worry, you will get it back when you return said buggy.
2.  Bring your own bags - In order to save costs, the attendants will not bag your groceries at Aldis.  But they have a counter near the check out and it is easy to just throw your goodies in a bag.  I am a little neurotic about taking my own bags to the grocery anyway so this isn't a biggie!
*they also have bags you can buy at checkout
3.  Keep your eyes peeled - walking into Aldis is not like walking in Kroger or your local grocery store.  Generally there are 3-4 rows total of foods and very simple labeling.  It may take a few trips to get your bearings (I also feel this way about Trader Joes) but once you have been a few times, it becomes second nature.
4.  Stock up on produce - I primarily buy produce at Aldis because it always looks fresh, there is a great selection and the prices are crazy good!  Honorable mention for gluten free pizza crust, vegetable chips, chicken, eggs, baking supplies and spices.  Bonus points that they carry wine and Diet Coke!
5.  Bring cash or debit - Because of their no frills philosophy, Aldis only accepts cash, debit or EBT.  Again, not a huge deal, but something to make sure you know!

And those are just some of the reasons I love Aldis.
To give you an idea, I picked up everything below for $32.
This will last us a bit over a week, depending on how many smoothies we make and what is on our menu.

Do you shop at Aldis?  Any favorites you have?

Ignoring It

I am straight up ignoring the fact that it was almost 70 here yesterday and the temperature outside today is some gross number that isn't 70.  It's not even 60 even and that's not anywhere near okay.

But, you know what, I'm not even going to worry about it because I just know full fledged Spring is right around the corner. And I am just charging on into full on Spring mode over here.

I've done a fabulous job (if I do say so myself) since the beginning of the year of not making a lot of meaningless purchases.  No Starbucks, no quick jaunts to Target or Bath and Body Works, no let's buy everything delicious looking thing at Trader Joe's, nothin.

But then, THEN, a cute little coupon from Old Navy appeared in my mailbox and this hilarious commercial with Amy Poehler appeared as well and I may just not be able to help myself.

So we are going to call this, if Old Navy gave me free reign of the store here is what I would buy.

And I can not promise that I won't be visiting my nearest Old Navy this weekend (probably not with free reign of it all though, unfortunately).
I mean, a girl needs cute pants for work, right?!
The pixie pants featured in the commercial are so stinkin adorable.  I picked up a pair of similar pants from The Limited last year and I've lived in them ever since.  I actually really dislike dress pants so I am always on the hunt for cute, well fitting, business casual pants for work and that can double as weekend pants.  I'm hoping these pixie ones are the ticket.
After seeing a few fashion bloggers really, really rock white jeans last year I have decided I need a pair.  I love the distressed look of these.
I always have to remind myself that Old Navy pants fit me strangely and that my normal size doesn't typically work there.  It's easier if I just don't look at the tag.

This dress has my name written all over and I am certain it needs to live in my closet.
Last fall I picked up a great dress in black...and in pink from Old Navy that has become a staple in my closet.  It is now out in this great black flower pattern that I think I need to also own.
And this popover I need in every, single color.

*this is not a sponsored post. Old Navy has NO idea who I am but if they want to send me free things or the chance to hang out with Amy Poehler I would not be mad.

Weekend Wrap Up : Gobble Gobble

And gobble we did.
And travel.
We were all over the place this Thanksgiving break but we sure didn't miss a chance to eat!

We spent part of our break in Pigeon Forge, TN with my family.
We ate, shopped and had a great time!
If you've never been to Pigeon Forge I recommend it for the shopping alone.  They have just about every outlet you could imagine and on Black Friday, watch out! Great shopping!
We picked up some great stuff! Some we brought home with us and some we will have to wait for Santa to bring us ;)
Friday we headed back to our hometown to see more family and friends.
We relaxed for a few days and ate some more. And more.
And drank coffee and relaxed. And ate.
1&2 - have Floyd, will travel. He's really diggin Mama's new car.
3 - Floyd helped himself to our ham leftovers while we were getting gas. And had 0 remorse afterwards.
4 - new, delicious froyo place in our hometown
5 - vacations really take it out of Floyd
6 - golf course romping with Floyd
7 - running advent begins! Wish we luck! (Running .5 a day until you reach 6 miles then back down.  Email me if you have questions or want to join in!)
8 - we tried the Christmas pjs, Floyd wasn't really into it.

And the Rachael Ray winner....Lainey! Shoot me an email with your address, girl and we will get some treats out to you and your pup!

Who is hitting up Cyber Monday deals?!

Blogtember : Hide Your Wallet

Day 7: Favorite online shops
This is a very, very dangerous prompt.
And by dangerous, I mean awesome.
I can't wait to stalk everyone's lists.

I have a serious case of 'it's almost fall I need all new clothes' fever.
It's a serious illness you guys.
I mean the booties
the oversized cardigans
the skinny cords and chinos
the cranberry colored everything
the cold weather running gear
the blazers
I need it all.
Need, right?!

Here are some favorites I have my eye on lately

Fall Wishes

Blazer | Blouse | Sweatshirt
Booties | Skirt | Cords | Heels (sold out)

While I have a serious love for stores like Gap and Old Navy, I also really love supporting great Etsy stores and small business owners. (also represented: Ruche and Piperlime. Lulus has had some really great pieces lately too.)

I also stalk Groopdealz, Sassy Steals, Very Jane, Brickyard Buffalo and StyleLately on the (almost daily) for deals.

And whenever I buy anything online I always use Ebates.  Free money for shopping, yes please!

What are your favorites?

Fitness Fashion

With my biggest race to date looming in the near (really near) future my mind is focusing on 1. crossing the finish line and 2. what I am going to reward myself with once I cross said finish line (besides ice cream of course).
I've said it before, I have to have goals and rewards for myself with my running or else I wouldn't get nearly as far (literally and figuratively).

Cute running gear is at the very top of my shopping list, always.
I've been scooping out what I want after my race and have narrowed down my choices.
This Target tank (in pink) is #1 on my radar at the moment.
How cute is that and is it me or does it look like a similar (much higher priced store we all know and love?)
Come fall I am going to need some long running pants...anyone tried these
The reviews on the site are fantastic.  I have to say, a good pair of running pants are hard to find. I've tried many a pair on that feel like they are eating me alive in a  slow, spandex death.

I have consistently heard great things about Old Navy's compression pants and I love the pattern on these ones.
Speaking of fall (no I'm not ready for it yet, just looking ahead), I think this hoodie needs to make it into my life. Either for running or just running around town...comfy city.
This jacket is also super adorable.

And I can never pass up a good racer back work out tank or like this one

So what should I go for after my race?
Cute tank, compression pants, running pants, running skirt?!
The options are endless, which would you choose??

Weekend Wrap Up: Bargains, Blate and Brunch

Happy Monday and happy short week!
I am so excited for the 4th!!
We have lots of fun things planned and I can not wait for Wednesday at 5 to get here to start those celebrations!

But first, let's talk weekend happenings.

Friday night I managed to dodge the downpour and get in a nice run.
Does anyone else think that working out on the weekends should burn double the calories and count for double the miles ran?

Saturday Katie and I headed to Columbus bright and early to get our shopping on!
We headed straight for the Discount Fashion Warehouse (think Limited brands- Victorias Secret, Express, Limited, etc in a mega outlet setting).
We both walked away with some great deals for not a lot of money.
Thennnn it was time for our blate with the adorable Ms. Keep Calm and Carry On herself (and Billy!).
To say we were excited is an understatement!
I can't believe we live this close and were just now able to get together BUT, regardless it happened and it was amazing!!
We met at Coopers Hawk and had a delicious lunch, glass of wine and great conversation.
I am happy to report that Katie is just as sweet and genuine in person as she is on her blog.
And adorable I might add.
Those great ootd's she always posts...even cuter in person!
Now we just need to get them down to Cincinnati!

And of course we had to grab some Jeni's while in town, because it would just be wrong not to.

I'm sure I've said it before but if not- if you have the opportunity to meet up with other bloggers DO IT.
It has never failed me and it is always a great time!

Sunday Mister and I managed to cross a few things off our Summer Bucket List and had brunch at Melt and explored downtown a little.
We also explored Nordstrom Rack where I picked up a really great 4th of July shirt that I can't wait to debut.

Add in a little pool time and 4th prep and that concludes our weekend!

How was your weekend?

Everyone Loves Saturday

And no, I'm not just talking about the day of the week, but everyone loves that too.
I'm talking about the Kate Spade Saturday line.
I mentioned earlier this week I have the chance to check out the new store in Indianapolis.
Since then I've been stalking her website which has led me to the 'Saturday' site.
Needless to say, I've already started making my Christmas list.
Here are a few items from the Saturday line that are on my wish list.
Consider everything on the regular Kate Spade line already on my list.
Saturday
Easy On Sandals: These are precious for summer and mint to boot!  I can see them dressed up or down and looking great either way all summer long.
Skinny Rectangle Necklace: I'm picturing this paired with an adorable maxi dress, a simple, yet dressy touch.
Scoop Back Dress: I mean, this needs to appear in my closet and stat.  How fun is this dress?!
String Bracelet: This is begging to be added to my daily arm party.
Circle Studs in Gold: I love how delicate and pretty these are; perfect for every day wear.

I just think this line screams happiness, beauty and quality.
Somehow (hint hint Mister), I don't own anything Kate Spade but I'm no where near opposed to that changing any time in the near future now.  Especially now that I've seen so much of it in person.
I think there are many Kate Spade items that are worth the money and classic pieces- ones that you know are going to last you a very long time.

What items are your favorite?
Has the Saturday line pulled you in yet?

*Kate Spade has no idea who I am, I just wanted to share some favorites with you guys.
But if she does find out about me, consider this my wish list, Kate!

Happy Thursday fools...yay for short weeks!

5 Things

The adorable Holly tagged me in 5 things and I am so excited to play along.
I love reading these types of posts because if blog stalking wasn't being nosy enough, these are full of even more juicy info.

1.  I am obsessed with recycling. I started the recycling program in our high school and at the past two jobs I've had.  I just really love saving the Earth.  It's so easy and takes just as much time to throw things as away as it does recycle them.  Why not?!  We often have way more trash than we do recycling.  My next venture is to get Mister on board with composting...

2. I refuse to look at the time if I wake up in the middle of the night.  Inevitably if I do it ends up being 45 minutes before I have to get up and then I'm pressuring my body to fall back asleep before my alarm goes off. I really LOVE sleeping and do not like for it to be messed with.
Floyd woke us up at 5:11 a few mornings ago HOWLING at the top of his lungs at something in the yard out our bedroom window.  We both SHOT out of bed and Floyd just about got to sleep outside the rest of the morning.  Don't wake the mama up.

3. I hate scary movies.  I've seen maybe 2 in my life and they haunted me for a long while.  But on the flip side I'll watch episodes of Dexter until I'm blue in the face.
Riddle me that one.

4. I can't function if my closet isn't organized my color.  It's been like this for years and I can't imagine it any other way.  It honestly helps me get dressed in the morning.  Feel like wearing pink? Just go write to the pink section!  My real dream in life would be to have Cher's closet from Clueless.

5.  It is my dream for Floyd to be a dog brand spokespersondog. Purina, PetSmart, a clothing/collar line, any of the above.  I think he would be excellent at it and who can deny his sweet face?!  Anybody have any connections with doggie modeling agencies?
#stagemom
That's just a face made for tv.
Plus he's already mastered 3rd position.

Your turn! I tag: Ashley, Anne and Allison and everyone else that wants to play along!!

And!! The Drip Knots winner from last week is...Casey!! Congrats girl, you will love them!! If nothing else, you can use them to hold Pierre's ears back!!  I'll get you in touch with Drip Knots!

P.s Kohls contacted me last week and wanted to offer you lovely ladies an exclusive 10% off online code!!  I seriously find a lot of my clothes at Kohls and never leave there empty handed.  You can thank my mom for that, she is the ULTIMATE Kohls shopper!

Weekend Wrap Up: Bummin'

Monday!
Here you are again...boo.
Between this weather and the fact that it's Monday, I am really ready to just go back to bed until Thursday, or the sun comes out...I'll take either.

Friday night we were total bums and it was awesome.
After having guests in town the past 2 weekends it was nice to just lounge around and catch up on rest.
We ended up watching a documentary called, 'Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead' and 'Flight'.  The documentary was very interesting and led to making about 75 smoothies over the course of the weekend.  It's definitely worth checking out!
Flight was very good too but don't watch it if you are getting on a plane any time soon.

Saturday was another lazy, lazy day.
Floyd lounged around with us.
In various positions, always keeping a dutiful eye on the neighborhood.
Saturday night I headed to a friends house for a Stella & Dot party where I got to meet one of my sponsors from this month, Michelle!
Mister actually went to college with Michelle...small world!
While I wanted one of everything I restrained myself and walked away with this bracelet.

Sunday I hit the mall with Bethany and Autumn and picked up a few things at F21
and ended out the night with a google hangout session with the college GFs.

How was your weekend?
Please tell me you did more than we did!

Suit Up

This dreary, dreary, wet, yucky cold weather Ohio has graced us with lately has me dreaming of Spring.
I may or may not have started picking up a few Spring items here and there in hopes of wishing anything above 45 degrees to grace us with it's presence.

You may have seen on Twitter that I snagged these two items from J.Crew over the weekend thanks to an AWESOME giveway by Jess that I won a few weeks ago.
I hit up the outlet at just the right sale time and ended up paying less than $15 for both of these things.
And can we talk about that dress for a moment?
Its a 3 for 1er (mid-length dress, shift dress, skirt). Score.
AND. It is a TWIRLER if I've ever seen a twirler.
(side note, being able to twirl in a dress is my #1 requirement and favorite thing in life.  I may or may not have put my wedding dress on the other day and twirled around the entire house. Read: DID IT.)
And those shoes are waterproof.
Well, until you step into a puddle bigger than 1/2" they are.
But they are cute and cute always wins out.

But what I have really had my mind on lately is swim suits.
A cute suit (similar) jumped into my buggy at Target a few weeks back (see: early January...ooops) and has been staring at me from my drawer for what feels like forever now.

In my defense, this swim suit hunt began after our NYE weekend away and I put on an old suit I bought for our honeymoon and realized it fit in 0 places up top.
Thank you p90x.
Don't get me wrong, I love p90x and the results but that dang 'ol Tony took my girls (not that I had much to start with anyway).
And because trying on swim suits and jeans is what I equate to torture, I thought I better start early in hopes of maybe having one that fits by the time it's Spring/Summer.

You really can't beat the price of the Target ones and I also found this cute one at Pennys.
Bethany just showed me some adorable ones at Aerie that aren't a million dollars and I have my eye on a few at VS as well.
So, you tell me, where are your favorite places to look for suits?
Have you already starting shopping and willing Spring to show her pretty little head as well?

Don't forget to enter the group giveaway!
Winner will be announced Tuesday!
And Fridays with Floyd is back tomorrow!!!

Weekend Wrap Up: Just me and the boy

Floyd and I had a weekend to ourselves.
The Mister was away at a boys weekend, doing boy things like drinking beer and playing corn hole.
And I don't want to know what else.

Floyd and I embraced our weekend alone together.
And by that I mean we slept in the middle of the bed all weekend.
Friday night we made dinner, drank some wine and did a photography tutorial online.
Floyd was enthralled with it all.
We I really enjoyed it and thought it was very worthwhile.
It only took me about 2 hours to complete and really taught me some essential (clever, huh?) skills that I feel I can really build on.
I first heard about this class from Jenni @ Story of My Life.
She has often talked about how helpful, easy to follow and informative the class was.
I have to agree wholeheartedly.
I would recommend this class to anyone wanting to learn more about photography and navigating their DSLR.
The explanations, diagrams and examples are very easy to follow and comprehend.
Saturday we took some walks, visited Floyd's girlfriend Pepper and I hung out with Bethany.
Bethany and I did some shopping and I scored an adorable black leopard skirt from one of my favorite consignment shops.
While checking out, I noticed the lady helping me was wearing an adorable blouse...that had BASSET HOUNDS ON IT!
I immediately interrogated kindly asked her where she had gotten it from and if it was current.
Yes and yes were the answers.
She purchased it from the Tommy Hilfiger outlet super close to my house.
I googled it when I got home and found it online!
 I mean, seriously!
I need that!!
I emailed it to Casey and she also found this one at Macys.
Who knew there was so much basset apparel out there?!
#justcallmethecrazydoglady
I mean, have they seen my blog name?! I think they should just give it to me!

Saturday night I had dinner with Katie and Derek at Mac's Pizza Pub (SO good) and got to hear all about their recent trip to Italy!

Sunday I had a delicious brunch at Annabels with Liz, Lauren and Anne!
It was so nice to see the ladies and catch up!
The Mister came back in the afternoon and we took advantage of the rainy weather and took Sunday afternoon naps and made soup.
Great fall afternoon in my books!

How was your weekend?

Fall Purchases

The Mister was out of town recently
and I did what all good wives do when the hubs is away...
I went shopping!
Le duh.

Before I show you my purchases, I have a confession...I have not quite embraced fall yet.
I mean, of course, I have had a PSL (who hasn't??) and my fall candle is out but I haven't put the sandals up quite yet.
I know, I know, everyone loves fall (and so do I) BUT I always approach it cautiously because once it's fall, it means winter is coming.
And I HATE being cold.
But, fall is slowly growing on me again this year and if it wants to be 70 degrees all fall, that is totally fine with me.

So in order to get my self even more in the mood for fall, I decided I should probably purchase a few fall items.
I mean that just makes sense, right?

Fall
1. Polka Dot Peplum: I haven't met a polka dot I don't like and I have been dying to try out a peplum top.  After purchasing this Elle one from Kohls, I am officially hooked on peplum and need more in my life.
(Plus this top was on sale for $16.99 and I had $10 off!)

2. Red Skinny Jeans: I purchased pink skinnies back in the spring and figured that red ones were only appropriate (and necessary for fall). Plus they were $17, I mean really? Can you beat that?
I purchased mine at Pennys (in the junior department) and their sizes run a little small.  So don't beat yourself up if you have to size up a few...I did and just ignored the number on the tag and went with what fit the best.

3. Black Cross Body Bag: I have been on the hunt for a cross body bag that would hold my camera but not be too big.  I still haven't found the exact right one (and am thinking it may be impossible) but I did find this one (at Penny's as well!) and really love it for fall.
How cute is that fringe on the zipper?

4. Brown Wedges: I can't find these online anywhere but I got mine at DSW on clearance (they are the Tavish by Guess). I know these aren't quite fall but I know I can wear them next spring/summer. And I have a few instances coming up that I think I can squeeze them in before it gets too chilly.

Also, they just put in a Francesca's (dangerously) close to my house and I have decided I want everything they have.  I've stopped in the one at the mall but I've never purchased anything.  This new one seems different or updated...and I want it all!

There you have it...I am getting in the fall spirit!
Have you made any fall purchases yet?

Weekend Wrap Up: Tunnels to Towers

Ahhh, a weekend at home, again, best. ever.

All in all, our weekend was pretty low key.
Friday night we had a pre-race party for the race I ran on Sunday
Saturday we gym'ed it, had our weekly coffee date and ran a lot of errands.
And, by errands, I mean went shopping.
But as far as Saturday goes, I have nothing to show for my shopping adventures.
Sunday I had my 3rd 5k of the summer and it went really well!
(more on the race in a second)
I managed to squeeze in some more shopping on Sunday and did come home with a few things for my efforts.
First, the polka dot chambray from Old Navy.
And secondly, a gem from the Loft.
I had been to the Loft on Saturday and filled out a form for a free gift card.
Then, on Sunday, I got a call that I had won!
I contemplated getting something practical (new work pants, jeans, etc.) but in the end, decided to get this fun, lightweight sweater.

A little background on today's race.

I recently had the pleasure of working with some new clients on their master bathroom.
(We completely renovated their space- I'll have pictures for you soon!)
I have really, really enjoyed working with these clients and hope to do more with them.
They are full of life and have the best stories.

Unfortunately, they lost their son on 9/11.
Since knowing them, they have shared a lot of really great stories and memories with me.
They have also been telling me about this 'Tunnels to Towers' race.
The race was started in New York in honor of a fireman, Stephen Siller, who ran through the Brooklyn tunnels to get to the Towers on 9/11, in his full firemen gear.
 Can you imagine??
Ever since 9/11 they have been having this run in honor of him in New York and have been adding more across the country.
They are aiming for 343 races (the number of firemen that were killed on 9/11).
This was the first year for it be held in Cincinnati and I can not wait to see this race grow next year!
As soon as my clients told me about this race, the cause, and of course, the moving stories about their son, I just knew I had to run the race.

The race was an incredible and moving experience.
There were many firemen running the race in their full gear.
And at the end of the race they had set up posters with each of the firemen's photos on them that had passed away on 9/11.
If the race wasn't tough enough, trying not bawl my eyes out at that point made it even worse.
The course ended up being mis marked and we really ran almost 4 miles.
That is definitely my longest distance to date!
But I am happy to say that I did the 4 miles in 38 minutes!

I was so honored to be a part of this race and can not wait to do it again next year.

How was your weekend??
Any fall shopping adventures?

{Online} Window Shopping: Clothes

Last week I showed you my newest online jewelry needs finds.
I am happy to report that the chevron earrings from Frock Stock
have made their way to my house and have been living on my ears since they arrived.

Moving on, here is what is on my wish list in the clothing department.
Window: Clothes1. Think of Me Lace Dress
I first heard of Red Dress Boutique from Dayna.
And now I want every single item they have.
I was immediately drawn to this dress.
We have a wedding in NOLA in October and I'm
thinking this one might be perfect.
(Red Dress Boutique, $50)
2. Coral Roll Up Sleeve Blouse
This shirt has my name written all over it.
It needs to come live in my closet.
(Modern Vintage Boutique, $42)
3. Speckle Tee Dress
This dress looks like quite possibly the
most comfortable thing ever invented.
I bet it's super soft too.
(Top Shop, $45)
4. Printed Racerback Tank
This one isn't actually a wish list item
because I bought it last weekend.
But it was just too cute not to share.
I am thinking of getting it in another color.
(Old Navy, $15)
 5. Oasis Cutaway Color Block Dress
My 2 favorite colors...in an adorable dress!
Perfection.
This is another NOLA wedding option.
Come to think of it, I'll need a rehearsal dinner dress too...
(ASOS, $80)

{Online} Window Shopping: Jewelry

I've been doing some online window shopping.
If I had unlimited funds, these would be the the items I would purchase.
Or maybe we can call this the jewelry edition of my Christmas list.
Don't worry, the clothes edition is coming soon!
Jewels
1. Chevron Earrings - How cute are these for everyday wear?
(Frock Stock, $9.99)
2.Hinged Tortoise Shell Bracelet - I think this bracelet is perfect for summer
and will go with almost anything!
(Piperline, $95)
3. Rainbow's End Necklace - I want to wear this necklace with
a crisp white tee and jeans all summer long.
(Red Dress Boutique, $30)
4. Leafy - I can hardly narrow down my favorites on the
JEWELIQ site but if you twisted my arm, this necklace would be
at the top. Their prices can't be beat either.
(JEWELIQ, $15)
5. Fire Elisa Necklace - Now this is a statement necklace.
(Bauble Bar, $42)

I'll take one of each, please!

Prime

Guys, Mister and I have an obsession.
It's called Amazon Prime
In a nutshell it's $79 a year and you get free shipping on every (prime) item you buy from Amazon.
Free shipping. Every item.
So you order it, the shipping is free and it shows up on your door step in 2 days
(sometimes sooner).
We have already ordered enough this year to cover the $79.

We are now ordering everything and it's brother from Amazon.
I literally have a grocery style list going on on our fridge for our upcoming orders.

Hair products...Amazon
Poo bags...Amazon
Ladder...Amazon
(yes we ordered a 17' ladder-hey it was easier than trying to get it home in our car)
Phone Covers...Amazon
Headphones...Amazon
Books...Amazon
Electronics...Amazon
and more...much more.
Prime
We haven't branched out to the household products or food yet but just give us time.
I've got a case of Clif bars on my waiting list that will probably be on my doorstep soon.

My friends have stopped asking me where I get things because they know the answer is always Amazon.

Yes, this may seem a tad lazy but hey, it's hot out
and I am saving gas by not driving to Target as often.
Plus if it is something that can wait 2 days it really isn't a big deal.

I also have a handy Amazon app on my phone called "Price Check".
You can scan bar codes at stores and see if it is cheaper on Amazon.
I use this one alllll the time.

We are so obsessed with our Prime membership that I wanted to share it with you guys.
Who would I be if I wasn't telling you about a great deal?
Heck, I think a year subscription sounds like a great item for your Christmas list!
(hint, hint Mom)

Do you have Prime?

*P.S. I am not being compensated for this post.
Amazon has no idea who I am.
But if Amazon wants to send me things that's okay :)

A Cut Above

We have a wedding next weekend I am stumped as to what to wear.
I have a few options in my closet
but something new sounds like a much better idea.
I have recently heard about an online boutique from Miss Kentucky Priss, Jess
Let me tell you, this stuff is CUTE!
(and very well priced to boot!)

I really love this chevron dress
and this pink and orange color blocked dress
and I think this striped tunic dress could be great with a sparkly belt I have
and I really love the open back on this tribal print dress
Told you these were adorable!
Check out the rest of their shop for more adorable items (especially the jewelry).
Even if I don't get one for the wedding, these have Keeneland written all over them!

Which one is your favorite?
Should I order one??
How do I choose?

Weekend Wrap Up: Busy yet Relaxing

I'm going to blame Daylight Savings Time for not getting my weekend wrap up up until Tuesday.
Regardless, we had a great weekend.
We seemed to cram a lot in but had a fair amount of rest time in as well
(multiple naps on the couch...)

This weekend we:
  • did some Spring cleaning
  • tried out the new 'pineapple' flavor at Yagoot
  • went to a free yoga class at Lulu
  • had coffee with a new friend, Lauren
  • test drove some cars
  • found out that we could have a beer on the patio at BD's Mongolian Grill for a $1 and have Floyd with us. dreams.
  • watched the original 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' (very good)
  • checked out the new Moerlein brewery downtown

And for my favorite purchase of the weekend: I picked up this blush (in pink passion)
from elf (at Target) that I am quickly becoming obsessed with

Speaking of elf...look at this Groupon I found
$15 for $30 worth!
That is SO much elf!!
