Meeting PW once again

You guys may have noticed that I am sorta, slightly, kinda really obsessed with the Pioneer Woman.
WELL, she ventured back to Cincy and I was so excited to go see her again.
Bethany and I have been counting down to this day for awhile now.
She's on tour promoting her new holiday cookbook.
(P.s it's full of all sorts of deliciousness, I'd pick one up if I were you.  They would make great holiday gifts too!)
She even brought her daughters this time.  They are as tall, gorgeous and sweet in person as they are on the show.
And because I'm 46 shades of crazy, I wanted to make and take her something that would maybe help her remember me.
So on top of wearing my basset shirt, I made Charlie and Walter (monogram) dog treats.
And gave her a basset cookie cutter like mine.
See? Crazy.

Unlike last time, Bethany and I were much closer up in line and got in and out in a reasonable time.
And even got to see Allison!
But, just like last time, Ree was so, so sweet and engaging.  She makes you feel as if you are the only one in the room when you speak with her.
I told her about the treats and cookie cutter and we talked about Floyd.
And his rascalling ways and I showed her the video of me reading the Charlie book to him.
She commented on how much she loved my basset hound shirt and said something to the tune of 'from one basset hound mama to another'. Swoon, I died.
Seriously, I think we would be best friends if we could go grab a glass of wine together.

Come back soon, Ree!
We have a basset hound that is happy to share his frito paws with you!

Fridays with Floyd : Lately

Floyd here today!
I've seen mama and you other bloggers do a 'life lately' post and I thought it was high time I did one of my own.

Eating : I'm on some new food and I really like it. So much so that I've been trying to convince Mama and Papa that I need 3 bowls a day.

Watching : Still keepin an eye on the hood.  And you know, whatever the parents have on the tube every night.  Well, before I fall asleep on my couch that is.  But that 3-4 minutes I'm awake I like to know what's going on with Homeland.

Reading : All the Charlie books.  Don't tell Mama and Papa but the other dogs in the neighborhood and I are in a book club during the day.  We are getting ready to start the Christmas Charlie book next week, you know, to get in the spirit.

Exercising : Well I'm still taking the parents for a walk every afternoon.  It's a lot of work but they really need it and I like to get out too and check on my friends.
And every night about 9 o'clock I come in from pottying and like to go REALLY nuts and run around the house like a crazy person dog.

Sleeping : In Papa's spot whenever he gets up from my couch.  His spot is always warm and the best seat on my couch so it's really just common sense.

Thinking : If it's Thanksgiving yet?
I could really go for some turkey. And dressing. And mashed potatoes.

And that's what is going on the world of Floyd.  Hope things are going well in your world!

P.s. Mama said to check out this delicious fall recipe she shared over at Anne's blog earlier this week.

Lots o Rando

How about a big ol dose of random for this Wednesday?

1. Floyd LOVES fall. Like immediate drool when we walk outside.
Which translates into walking home with leaves stuck to his drool covered ears.
He's also on a personal mission to smell all the leaves in the neighborhood.
As in, every single one of them.
2.  We have some really fun things going on this weekend.
So fun that I'd prefer them to be here now and just skip the rest of the work week.

3. Mister made sure my taco soup was extra festive last night.
This soup is the perfect dinner for handing out candy to trick or treaters on Halloween.

4. I am in the midst of a few good books that I am excited to review for you guys soon!
Let's just say I've frequented the library a lot lately.  Does anyone else love that they can reserve books online and just pop in and pick them up for is that just my dorkish self?

5. Pioneer Woman's newest book arrived on my doorstep yesterday.  It's chock full of holiday recipes and I can not wait to devour it...and devour every single recipe in it.
She is coming to Cincinnati in November and I may or may not already have my ticket.  Now the question is do I try to take Floyd to meet her or not?

What random is going on in your life?

The Greatest Tweet of My Life

Something happened last night and I am still smiling about...

First things first....Pioneer Woman came out with a new Charlie book on Tuesday.
In no new news, I am a teensy bit obsessed with PW and all things she creates/produces.
As soon as I saw the new book I ordered it from Amazon and yesterday when I came home it was on our porch (thank you Amazon Prime).
I tore it opened and showed it to Floyd.
He was beside himself with excitement.
Can't you tell?
#ecstatic (Floyd's hashtag input)

I then tweeted Floyd's excitement to the world, and most importantly, PW herself.

And then the GREATEST thing in the world happened.
I died.
Like shut the front door, baaa-naaa-nas, Rachel Zoe DIED.
I jumped and screamed and jumped some more around the house and scared Floyd half to death.

I will 100% admit that I'm a huge dork and this literally made my week month.

PW is one of the reasons I started blogging and she is clearly a superstar of a blogger, writer and all around lady.
Plus she has 2 bassets and makes delicious food so you just can't really go wrong with that.
So this just put it over the top for me.
Stick a fork in me I am done.

Now the real question is, how do we get her to invite Floyd and I out to the ranch for a play date with Charlie and Walter?? #thatdoesntmakemesoundcreepyatall

And Floyd did get his bedtime story

And now I shall end this before I start to sound even crazier.

Happy Thursday friends.
I'm hosting a small cocktail party for some ladies at my house tonight and can't wait to show you guys the details!

Fridays with Floyd: Nerd Alert

If you've read my blog for about 7 seconds or met me you would know that I have a mild obsession with Pioneer Woman.
(I do my best to work her into every conversation).
I am also in love with the fact that she has bassets and how adorable her bassets are.
She posted these photos of Walter on Wednesday and they are to. die. for.
I first saw them at work and literally burst out laughing.
My colleagues were trying to design a kitchen behind me and I was laughing my booty off.
Slightly distracting.

Please look at these photos and try not to laugh.
Seriously.
I can't stop.
I dare you to try to have a bad day while looking at these photos.

I may or may not have just made this my desktop image...
The Mister and I constantly talk about dressing up Floyd.
As in we come up with a new outfits/ideas every day.
I'm planning on making Floyd's Halloween costume this year.
The only problem is actually narrowing down what ridiculous persona we want him to be.

Get Excited

So we all know that I kinda, really, a whole lot, LOVE the PW.  I tell the Mister all the time that I'm convinced that her and I could be best friends.  I know (for an almost fact) that when we met her she wanted to just hang out with me all night.  You can totally tell from her expression in this picture.  You can see it in her eyes, "Oh, Sarah, you are SO awesome, please let's be bff's with our bassets."
Well, things are about to get really exciting.  Bethany texted me earlier today to inform me that soon she's going to have a show on the Food Network!!! Broadcasting from The Ranch, dogs and all.

I. Die.

I don't know when it's starting yet and this article doesn't say but you can bet your cowboy boots there will be a viewing party (complete with PW recipes) at our house.

What do you think the chances are of Charlie and Walter having their own spinoff show?
