Total Basset Case: Cold Weather Running Gear

Cold Weather Running Gear

As you guys know, I'm sorta into this running thing.
But what I'm not so into is this cold weather.
One of my largest pet peeves in life is being cold.
So it only makes sense I voluntarily throw myself outside to exercise. In the cold. Multiple times a week.

I managed to get through the summer without buying too much running gear, although it is quickly becoming my favorite thing to purchase.
But with these colder temperatures and wind, some cold weather running gear is necessary.
(Along with some reflectors and head lamps.)

I don't have nearly what I need...yet (Santa?) but I do have some to get me through.
Below is a mix of what I do have and love and a few things I'd love to see under the tree...or wrapped up for my birthday.
For some reason I really love that this headband and hat have holes for your ponytail.
Convenient, warm and cute!

I spotted this pullover at Target last weekend and almost put it in my cart.
And then I restrained myself, but I've been thinking about it ever since. Wink wink Santa.

I have a similar 1/4 Zip Pullover to this and I am obsessed with it.  It's warm, snug and has thumb holes...everything I need!

I am in desparate need of some good gloves and these even have a light on them, perfect for those night runs!

I have these pants (and the capri version) and LOVE them.  I love the compression aspect and they keep me warm throughout my whole run.

And, besides the promise of coffee and an a hot shower at the end, these are the pieces that are (and hopefully will be) getting me through these winter runs.

Okay, I totally dig your picks! I'm struggling this year with cold weather running. I've been away from the cold too long! Here's to not freezing, haha!

Love the headband and gloves. I have good Nike running gloves but sometimes wear my snow gloves when it's really cold. I can't stand to have cold fingers. I plan on stopping by The Running Spot for the 20% off sale this weekend and stocking up!

I'm running through the winter, too, and I'm already struggling! There is nothing more opposing than a biting wind-ugh! Looks like you have some good gear, though.

and if you live in the pacific northwest like me, you have to also invest in rain gear!

More power to you, girl! I just cannot handle the outdoor winter running and am stuck with the treadmill from now through April! I adore that ponytail hat, Santa needs to get that for you for sure.

I used to be a fair-weather runner, and now I do it in all weather - you'll grow to love that too :)

And funny enough, I recently put together my own cold weather gear post for next week, which is when I should (hopefully!!) be cleared to start running again... I also included thumb holes on long-sleeved shirts as a must. Love the Old Navy pants too.

Dude. I can't tell you the last time I bought something without thumb holes & not made of compression spandex.

I think it's totally worth the money to invest in some high quality wind blocking gear. It's totally worth the money. It allows you to run less bulky. Worth it!

Thanks,

i personally try to run during the summer.. but with how harsh the winter gets here in the city, i can never get myself outside to jog/run in the cold.

these are great clothing pieces, thought.. i might have to reconsider, hahaha!
