Bookworm

In honor of my monthly book club tonight I
thought I would share with you my recent favorite reads.

 duh.
The first book in the trilogy was last months book club pick.
I read all 3
but we've talked about this.
You know I loved them.

To say I loved this book is an understatement.
I enjoyed it so much that I emailed the author yesterday.
I loved it so much and wanted to let her know how much her book touched me.

I really felt that I could connect with Rachel (author) and at the same time, she really inspired me.
Since moving to Cincinnati about 3 years I have made a few girlfriends
but have always been yearning for more.
Who doesn't love new friends??
The friend search has definitely been a struggle for me.
I had a (large) great group of friends in Indianapolis and leaving that was very hard.

Her book has really encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone
and seek out friends in new places.
She also encourages you to continue to work on the
friendships you have and develop them further.
Whether you are new to a city or not, I think this book is a great read for everyone.

I picked up Bossypants from the library as a book on tape.
(P.S. I love books on tape...am I the only one? I have
also been listening to them when I run. #nerdalert).

Listen.
This book is SO funny.
I'm talking tears running down my face while I'm driving funny.
(not the safest condition)
It is read by Tina which, I think, makes it that much funnier.
If you haven't read or listened to this book you need to run to the library and pick it up.

Those are my most recent favorites.

What are you reading right now?
What should we read next month for book club??

Weekend Wrap Up: All Around Great

We had a truly fantastic Cincinnati style weekend!
The weather was great, the friends were great, the food was great...
all around it was...great!
(Get ready for a photo dump)

My weekend started early with a summer styling session held at Madewell by Lauren
beautiful clothes and good friends
are a great way to spend a Thursday.

Friday night Mister and I knocked another burger joint off our list-
we are on a quest to have all of the best burgers in Cincinnati
Quatman Cafe was the choice and it did not disappoint!

Saturday morning started with me finishing the 50 Shades trilogy.
Honestly, I'm not ready to talk about it...
#latersbaby

The rest of the morning was spent down in OTR supporting some friends
that were running the Go OTR 5k.

(I was rockin a pretty solid top knot and my new Madewell tee)

We popped in Bakersfield for a quick beer with friends.

Mister and our friend Chris

Next we had lunch with our friends Elisha, Nathan and their adorable babe Roslin.

Saturday night was rounded out with a cookout at our friend's house in the neighborhood.
I took crack brownies
(recipe later this week)
They have a beautiful pup named Pepper
and I think it is safe to say that Floyd has a new girlfriend.

Sunday was spent running errands and doing yardwork!

How was your weekend?
I don't know about you but I am already counting down to next weekend...
hello 3 days off!

Have a great one friends!
P.S. Don't forget to enter the giveaway...you have until tomorrow night!

Grey.

50 Shades.
Are you reading it??
If not, why not?
To say I'm obsessed would be an understatement.
We chose book 1 for our book club last month.
I was skeptical at first...
and then I started reading
and could not get enough of Christian and Ana.
About 3/4 of the way through book 1 I got on Amazon and ordered the next 2.
(p.s. one day I'll share my love of Amazon Prime with you)
I knew I had to know the rest of the story

I am now 142% totally engrossed in this love story.
I can't read fast enough
but at the same time,
do not want it to end.

I started book 3 the other day and am cautiously
but feverishly reading it.

I did hear a glorious rumor that they are making a movie...
This Vanity Fair article suggests Ryan Gosling to play Christian Grey
Um if that is the case,
I'll be sitting at the theater waiting until it opens.

Funny story...
I received a call the other day from an unknown Washington number...
and if I am lying I am dying...
my first thought was,
'OMG, Christian Grey is calling me!'
Turns out it was just a spam calling telling me I had won a cruise...
#notthesame

If you are not reading this series you need to get on it!
Be warned though
they do drop the 'f' bomb
and it is intense
but the story is good
and a great beach read for the summer.
Bottom line.
Read it.

Who is with me on this obsession??
I'll let you know what the verdict is from book club soon!
Happy weekend, Cinco de Mayo and Derby Day, friends!
