Weekend Wrap Up : I've got the fever

Spring fever that is.
This weekend was one for the record books.
I know everyone is talking about the weather BUT holy bananas it was amazing.
I am fully aware it's going to get cold again but I am basking in the goodness that was 75 degrees for as long as I can.

Friday night Mister and I had a delicious dinner with our neighbors.  I made a very yummy appetizer (if I do say so myself) and will post that recipe soon.  It was very quick and easy to whip up after work.

Saturday was just stellar.
I started the day with a run to bootcamp and a run home.
Then the plan for the day was to do whatever Mister wanted to continue his birthday celebrations.  We headed straight to The Eagle.  We have been trying to eat at The Eagle for MONTHS.  I wish I was kidding but every time we go it's at least at 2 hour wait and we are always far too hungry for that.
Thankfully two seats opened up at the bar the moment we walked in.
They are know for their fried chicken and it did not disappoint.
The food lived up to its name and all of the hype we've heard about.
TOTAL splurge meal and TOTALLY worth it

We wandered around OTR for the afternoon and ended up at Taft's Ale House.  A bar in an old church, if you will.
The interior is beautiful and very well done.  I was obsessed with all of the wallpaper they used.

I took Floyd on a long, long walk that afternoon.
He's working on building his warm weather stamina back up...
My plan for the weekend was also to get a longish run in on Sunday but because it was so nice on Saturday, I headed out for 5 more miles on Saturday.  I was so glad to have it done but also exhausted.

Sunday was our standard day.  Church, grocery, Aldi's, all that good stuff.
I also spent far too much time working on a puzzle.  Go ahead and call me a huge dork...I am fully aware of it.

Planning for a Picnic {Wine2Go Review}

With some warm Spring days on the horizon, Mister and I are itching to use our new picnic basket.
I have already started planning what is going in said basket.
If there are a few simple things in life I like they are spending time with Mister, eating snacks and enjoying Springtime weather on a picnic.
And wine.  Wine is necessary for a picnic.
How cute are those wine glasses?  Picnic perfect!
Problem is I don't want to risk taking a glass bottle.

Thankfully I found the perfect solution
A foldable wine bottle that holds an entire bottle of wine!
Genius? Genius!
Wine2Go is the most perfect way to picnic with your wine!
No mess, no glass and no chance of breaking the bottle and ruining your picnic basket and all your delicious snacks.
I am literally in awe of how good of an idea this is.
Wine2Go is great for picnics, the beach, the park and the pool this summer!

I literally cannot wait to go on our picnic and use our Wine2Go!
Next up, snack planning!

Hippity Hoppity

We've had a whirlwind of a week around the house.
So this is going to a short and Easter bunny sweet wrap up.

Our weekend started on Thursday with Bethany's going away dinner.
It was a bittersweet event but you can really never go wrong with Mexican so that made up for it.

Friday we headed to our home town for Easter festivities.
I started Momastery's 'Carry On, Warrior' on the way home and finished it the next afternoon.
I'll have a full review up soon but just know that I loved it and can't stop thinking about it.
Saturday my mom and I know how to do lunch and it's called froyo with as many toppings as your cup will hold.
(lemon dress is recent from Old Navy)

Sunday was full of Easter church services, lunch, egg hunts and tormenting our Easter basset.

*remember the Younique giveaway is still going on!

Decisions Decisions

We have a black tie optional event coming up soon and I have been beyond torn about what to wear.
From the beginning I have been leaning towards a long gown, but nothing too formal.
I want to look elegant, but fun and springy and not stuffy.
And I would prefer not to wear black, just for something different.
But there are a few short options that are catching my eye too.

So after consulting with a few girlfriends, I think I have some options narrowed down from Rent the Runway.  I went back and forth with buying something vs. renting but I haven't been able to find anything yet that wasn't a million dollars so I think RTR it is.
Though it does hurt my money saving heart to pay for something I can't keep...
I have never used RTR but I have heard nothing but fabulous things about them and I love all of the reviews and real life photos they have.

So here is where I need you!
Help me decide on a dress!!

1. Gold sequin  - I love how fun and sparkly this one is and the back is beautiful.
2. Pink and red - I can never say no to pink.  I'm not 100% on those sleeves though...
3. Red floral - I think with some great, big gold earrings this one could be fabulous. I love this shade of red, not quite stop sign red but has a bit of pink in it.
3. Blue tribal - I enjoy that this one can go either fancy with some great earrings or a bit more casual
4. Lilac - In love with the color of this one and the back is so, so pretty
5. Short black and gold sequin - Now this one is just fun, spunky and totally out of my comfort zone but I love it.

And those are what I have it narrowed down to!
Regardless of what I wear, I am very excited to get dressed up!
What is your vote?

And what shoes?!
And what does Mister wear?
So many decisions...

Happy Friday and A Bloggy Spring Break

Happy Friday friends!

Just wanted to pop in real quick and let you guys know that I am going to take a mini blog spring break.
I am going to unplug from the blog and social media world for a short (promise SO short) little bit and soak up life with Mister and Floyd.
I want to be outside, enjoying the amazing spring weather and time with my boys.
And just BE
 via
I see so many posts about living in the moment and always think to myself that I need to do that more often but then I never do it.  So I am forcing myself to do it now.  And what better time than spring when it's so gorgeous outside?!
I am so guilty of not being able to put the computer or phone down and grasp what's going on around me.  And I need to fix that.  If nothing else my eyes need a break.
And it turns out instagram will go on if I don't check it every 5 minutes.
As much as it pains me to take a mini break and be away from you guys (please, please fill me in when I get back) I think it's necessary.  I think a little unplugging, recharging of the mind and body and revamping is good and necessary sometimes.
And don't worry...I'll fill you in with all of Floyd's shenanigans and our adventures when I get back!
I may pop in and out a little over the next little bit, haven't decided yet but I will be sure to let you know if I do!

See ya on the flip side!

Weekend Wrap Up

My weekend started on Thursday night with a dinner date with some other Cincinnati bloggers!
 Allison | Erin | Jax | Katie | Me
We had a great evening full of girl and blog talk.
There was a request that Floyd join us for the next meetup.
I'll have to check his schedule and see if he can make it.

Friday Mister, Floyd and I were la-zy bones. We skipped working out (got dressed, did a few ab work outs and called it a night) and lounged the evening away.
Well we were busy holding Floyd's bone and FaceTiming his aunt Kait.
Saturday was filled with about 1,000 errands and getting Floyd all dolled up.
He wanted to ask the neighbor dog out on a date and decided he should wear his tie.
Sunday I decided I was done letting this crazy, COLD, Ohio weather dictate my shoe choices any longer.  I figure if I just act like it's Spring, it'll eventually happen at some point.  I'm also ignoring the fact that they keep predicting snow in our forecast.  Hey, mother nature, it's the middle of March...be Spring already.
How was your weekend??

Suit Up

This dreary, dreary, wet, yucky cold weather Ohio has graced us with lately has me dreaming of Spring.
I may or may not have started picking up a few Spring items here and there in hopes of wishing anything above 45 degrees to grace us with it's presence.

You may have seen on Twitter that I snagged these two items from J.Crew over the weekend thanks to an AWESOME giveway by Jess that I won a few weeks ago.
I hit up the outlet at just the right sale time and ended up paying less than $15 for both of these things.
And can we talk about that dress for a moment?
Its a 3 for 1er (mid-length dress, shift dress, skirt). Score.
AND. It is a TWIRLER if I've ever seen a twirler.
(side note, being able to twirl in a dress is my #1 requirement and favorite thing in life.  I may or may not have put my wedding dress on the other day and twirled around the entire house. Read: DID IT.)
And those shoes are waterproof.
Well, until you step into a puddle bigger than 1/2" they are.
But they are cute and cute always wins out.

But what I have really had my mind on lately is swim suits.
A cute suit (similar) jumped into my buggy at Target a few weeks back (see: early January...ooops) and has been staring at me from my drawer for what feels like forever now.

In my defense, this swim suit hunt began after our NYE weekend away and I put on an old suit I bought for our honeymoon and realized it fit in 0 places up top.
Thank you p90x.
Don't get me wrong, I love p90x and the results but that dang 'ol Tony took my girls (not that I had much to start with anyway).
And because trying on swim suits and jeans is what I equate to torture, I thought I better start early in hopes of maybe having one that fits by the time it's Spring/Summer.

You really can't beat the price of the Target ones and I also found this cute one at Pennys.
Bethany just showed me some adorable ones at Aerie that aren't a million dollars and I have my eye on a few at VS as well.
So, you tell me, where are your favorite places to look for suits?
Have you already starting shopping and willing Spring to show her pretty little head as well?

Don't forget to enter the group giveaway!
Winner will be announced Tuesday!
And Fridays with Floyd is back tomorrow!!!

Spring Spruce Up!

Even though the temperature outside is not acting like it, I am ready for Spring to be here! I've added a few simple touches around the house in hopes of urging Spring to get here already!

The gold frame was one of my very first DIY projects and is usually home to a large scale brown fabric that I framed many moons ago.  I decided to switch it out for a piece of scrap wallpaper to liven things up.  I love the bright pink in the flowers and the paper even has a sheen to it which is nice.  The plant was a very cheap addition from IKEA this week.  The plant itself was $2.49 and the adorable white pot (that I'm obsessed with) was a whopping $1.99.  I love the pop of color of the leaves against our brown walls.

I also recently created and added this mirror to the house.  I love that small and easy additions can really help liven up our surroundings!

Linking up over at Centsational Girl and her 'Fair Weather Forum: Spring Decorating and Cleaning' link party.  Take a minute and go say hello to Kate...she is great and very inspirational.

Spring Forward

When the girls are I were in Chicago we did a teensy bit of shopping and all of the brightly colored Spring fashions really got me excited for the weather to get above 50.  J.Crew is rockin it this season. Little bit glam mixed with simplicity.  I'm naturally attracted to anything that glitters. And after looking at all of my selections here, apparently I am also really attracted to stripes! Ha!   Here are some favorites:

I know this shirt has been done all over blogland but it is so, so cute! And it comes in a dress version! I die!!

Anyone that knows me can attest to the fact that I love a super soft, comfy tee any day of the week and the color of this one is beautiful!
I'm super OBSESSED with leopard print right now

What are you loving this season?
